Guy Adami Shares Insight at Lunch & Learn

On November 30th, around 150 professional advisors, investors and other Greenville professionals had the unique opportunity to receive some sage financial advice from a true Wall Street insider. Guy Adami, co-host of MSCNBC’s Fast Money, spoke to the group at in the Greenville Convention Center ballroom during an extremely informative lunch & learn.

After a lunch provided by the Greenville Convention Center and a brief introduction from Melissa Spain, CEO of CFNCEast, Adami took the podium. He began by sharing a brief history of how he came to be co-host Fast Money, which he largely attributed to determination, rising above seemingly insurmountable odds, and a tenacious attitude throughout his youth. Adami began his career as a broker, working on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, and quickly rose through the ranks. Before making the leap into television, Adami was the VP of Commodities at Goldman Sachs as well as the executive directory at CIBC World Markets.

After his introduction, he opened up to the floor for a question and answer session, allowing people to ask the questions that mattered most to them and eastern North Carolina. Adami thoughtfully responded to post-elections concerns about the ecomony, forecasting the next steps into another “bear” market, and his opinions on increasing interest rates and their impact on the housing market. For nearly 90 minutes, Adami answered questions from the crowd, occasionally elucidating an anecdote from his youth or early in his career. After speaking with the large group, Adami met personally with several ECU School of Business students, giving them invaluable insight into planning and beginning their careers, the type of attitude needed to succeed in the world of business, finance and the stock market, an some tips on how to make a big splash early in their careers. His insight into the markets and his ability to localize the information so that it had the most impact to our region was extremely beneficial.

We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to have Mr. Adami join us for such an informative event, and we wish him continued success for years to come. Everyone at the CFNCEast would like to thank all of the advisors and professionals who were in attendance and helped make the event so special. We’d especially like to thank our sponsors at Wells Fargo, Colombo & Kitchin attorneys, the ECU School of Business, Evolve, Inc., and the CFNCEast board of directors and investors who helped make the event possible.
